Much of how a puppet is built and moves, many times informs some of the personality, not to mention what kind of performance you can access from its limitations. And I had no time with the puppet before flying to LA.

The notes on the character’s background were extremely broad and at times contradicting. The script was mostly informational jargon. I had a day to figure something out without the director and clients over my shoulder.  That really isn’t enough time to find the voice.

So once I chose something I had to ask the director to keep me honest for continuity as we moved through tons of content and hours of improv.
